What an amazing race! I did the 26 mile run, there I was looking for a long race and looked in all the usual places to no avail and then came across this hidden gem, I looked at the fell running royalty that have run in the past and couldn’t believe my luck, I only live in Lumbutts and never knew this was on my doorstep! Thank you so much to the organisers and all the volunteers at the CP’s, what a lovely bunch of people, your help was very much appreciated too. I have to say that all the runners and walkers I met en route were nice too. Many thanks, it’s a hidden classic!

I used to live in Hebden Bridge, running with Todmorden Harriers so it is a real pleasure to get back and walk or run in Calderdale from time to time.

Thank you to the wonderful Hike team who not only allowed myself and my daughter to walk the route dressed as 118 and 118, but gave us fantastic encouragement along the way and allowed us to collect donations for Kirkwood Hospice and MacMillan Nurses. We had a fantastic day and raised a whopping £113 in the clubhouse and a further £330 from friends and family which will be split between the two causes. It was a great new route and we even had sunshine - thank you for arranging that for us all!

Another very well organised event. Even the weather was kind this year. No heroics again this year and entered the short 22 mile route. Despite the wet ground due to lots of rainfall during the winter months, the route was very enjoyable. The last climb up from the canal back to the cricket club is always a killer, but when the church comes into view this tends to spur us on and it’s not far now. Again many thanks to Linden and all the team, see you next year.
