Oliver Cromwell stayed in the Manor, in recent times the Manor was the scene of an enormous burglary. The route takes in the WW2 Airbase, Littlecote House - (a Tudor Manor), and we pass the site of a Roman Villa with a renovated mosaic. The route crosses the river Kennet. We will also ensure that an overgrown path is clear for others to use. :- A joint Cub and Scout Hike, hopefully we will be able to get teh Beavers along to Littlecote, where they will also be able to view a bird sanctuary. | 35 |
