Avon A medium length hike through the North Somerset countryside.  Things to see will include a long barrow and WWII tank traps and pillboxes as well as relics of our industrial past (coal minimg and railways). 8
Avon 90th Bristol (Westbury Methodists) Scout Group are taking part in Blaise Estate, Blaise, Bristol.:- Follow planned trail through woods, followed by picnic tea and games.  We are joining 2 other Beaver colonies from our district. 10
Avon 1st Backwell Scout Group are taking part in Cheddar, The Mendips:- We will be walking an eight mile route centred around Cheddar Gorge and ascending to the highest point on the Mendip Hills: hope to see Roman lead mining remains, lime kilns, and beautiful limestone scenery (and, in the distance, the sea!) 20
Ayrshire 18th Ayrshire St Columba (Beaver Scouts) Scout Group are taking part in Ayr:- Walking along Ayr seafront, then along River Doon and through Bellisle park back to HQ. 14
Ayrshire 28th Ayrshire (Troon) Scout Group are taking part in Around the town of Troon:- Beavers will walk along Beach and take footpath back besdie Golf course. Cubs will do reverse with a bit added in. Scouts will walk the Smugglers Trail. Explorers will Cycle 85
Ayrshire 69th Tarbolton Scout Group are taking part in Culzean Country Park.:- During our weekend camp at Culzean Scout Campsite we will be going a hike around about the country park with the 69th Tarbolton Cubs, full of historical information, wildlife, a castle and canons to battle!! 15
Bedfordshire Badger Hill (9th Ampthill & Woburn) Scout Group are taking part in Circular walk in our district:- We use Jott as a family hike to encourage more parental help in the future 50

Bedfordshire Aspley Guise (6th Ampthill and Woburn) Scout Group Scout Group are taking part in Leighton Buzzard to Woburn, Bedfordshire:- Aspley Guise Scouts are taking the train to Leighton Buzzard, then hiking approximately 8.5 miles to Woburn. We will be following the Greensand Ridge Walk for the most part. 20
Belfast (South East) 26th South East Belfast Scout Group are taking part in Lagan Valley Regional Park:- The Scouts will walk from Stranmillis to Ardnavally Scout Centre along the Lagan River tow path 14
Berkshire Maidenhead District Scout Group are taking part in In and around Cookham in Berkshire:- The annual District Incident Hike incorporating the JOTT. 100
Bristol 62nd Bristol Scout Group ( Beavers Section ) Scout Group are taking part in Blaise Castle estate, Bristol:- The event will start with a 1 an 1/2 hours walk/hike around the Blaise castle etate and grounds/woodlands finishing with games and a picnic on the grounds 50
Bristol 91st Bristol Scout Group are taking part in Blaise Castle Estate:- 91st Bristol Scout Group (Beaver Section ) along with 90th & 62nd Beaver Scouts are taking part at Blaise Castle estate, Bristol:- The event will start with a 1 an 1/2 hours walk/hike around the Blaise castle estate and grounds/woodlands finishing with games and a picnic on the grounds. 20
Buckinghamshire 3rd Aylesbury Scout Group are taking part in a hike from Aylesbury to Princes Risborough;:- Scouts hiking the whole route, Cubs meeting part way along and finally Beavers too with a group picnic at Coombe Hill including investing (hopefully 1 Beaver, 1 Cub, 1 Scout and a new leader 100

Carmarthenshire 5th Carmarthen Scout Group are taking part in Dinefwr Park, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire:- Our first JOTT.  It will be a family event with walks of various distances for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. 50

Ceredigion 2nd New Quay and Llanarth Air Scout Group are taking part in Tresaith area:- The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers will be walking different distances in the Tresaith area. 60
Cheshire 2nd Middlewich Scout Group are taking part in Mid-Cheshire District Scout Camp - Forrest Camp: - Taking part in the Trail Hike as one of the activities planned for the weekend. Hiking along the footpaths in the countryside around the Scout Camp site. 15
Cheshire Edge Explorers will be taking a train trip to the edge of the Cheshire plains and a gentle walk back through the wonderful Cheshire Countryside in an attempt to identify as many edible wild plants as we can 20
Cheshire Holmes Chapel Scout Group are taking part in Wilmslow:- Beaver Scouts from the District will go on a walk doing a nature scavenger hunt, will have a pick nick lunch, do the explore badge, gain hikes stage badge. 150
Cheshire North west cheshire Beavers Scout Group are taking part in Wigg Island Nature park, Runcorn:- Walk round nature reserve finishing with a picnic 100
Cheshire 1st Cuddington and Sandiway Scout Group are taking part in Forest Camp and surrounding Area:- Scouts will be starting off on the Saturday morning from the camp and spending most of the day walking round the local footpaths.  We will then meet the beavers from our Thursday colony later on where they will join us for the end of our walk back to the camp. 25
Cheshire Ellesmere Port And Neston District will be on the trail in one of Wirral’s most beautiful parks. Eastham Country Park, which covers approximately 100 acres, was once a Victorian amusement park, and there is still evidence of the old fountains, and a bear pit! 200
Cheshire 1st helsby Scout Group are taking part in Delamere Forest:- 1st Helsby Beavers will be following a trail through Delamere Forest this year. The Cub and Scout sections will also be on a hike. Three Cubs will be running the Mini Manchester Run 70
Cheshire 4th Runcorn Scout Group are taking part in Not yet confirmed - may be Wigg Island Nature Reserve, Runcorn, Cheshire:- District event, guided nature walk around site, ending with picnic lunch. 20
Cheshire 2nd Middlewich Scout Group are taking part in Cheshire Tatton Park:- Mid-Cheshire Cub Mini-Hike within and to Tatton Park, with overnight camp Saturday to Sunday. 24

Clwyd 1st Rhyl District are taking part in Rhydymwyn,Flintshire, North Wales:- Conducted tour of the Valley Works, Rhydymwyn, where in the 2nd world war mustard gas and its bombs were produced and Uranium 235 separated from 238 before the atomic bomb was developed in USA.  With wild flower walk followed by exploring local woodlands (towards Naturalists Badge). 10
Cornwall 1st Newquay Scout Group are taking part in Cardinham Woods, Bodmin, Cornwall.:- Join activity between Beaver scouts and cub scouts. Full day from 11am til 4pm. Different woodland activities in the morning, then lunch together, and woodland walk together in the afternoon. 45
Derbyshire 3rd Codnor and 1st Erewash Scout Group are taking part in Amber valley:- 9 mile walk in the Amber Valley to Drumhill campsite where we camp over night. 20
Derbyshire 157th Allestree (St John's) Scout Group are taking part in Lea Woods, Cromford Canal:- A mixed expedition to include ambushes, a tunnel, a canal path and an ice cream in a guards van! 20
Derbyshire 3rd Killamarsh Cubs Scout Group are taking part in Killamarsh:- A tea time walk and picnic for the cubs around their home town. The route takes in a lot of the changing local landscape - fields, woodlands, canal paths, lakes and railways. 20
Derbyshire Willington Scout Group are taking part around the Stanton Moor area in Derbyshire. Starting at Braford in Dale, through the fields following the Limestone Way, then up past the Castle Ring (an Iron Age fort at 244 meters high)a short stroll then to Robin Hoods stride Legend says that Robin Hood strode between the tower like gritstone Tors at each end (15 meters across)? Across to Cratcliff Rocks to see the hermits Cave that is hidden by a crop of Yew trees (it was probably inhabited in the 12th Century & has a superb carved Crucifix in it) up into Birchover (within the village traces have been found as far back as 3,500 years ago -Bronze Age, within the buriel clay urns several relics have been found flint weapons, vessles & tools etc, these are now living in a museum in Sheffield) to see the carvings at Rowter Rocks that are nestled just behind & above the Druid Inn.  These were explained to Victorians that they were an ancient Druid stronghold, they were actually carved into the rock around by a Parson Thomas Eyre (the sculptings consist of armchairs a font, basins & also used to be a stone rocking chair, that weighed upto 50 tonnes)Thomas actually delivered sermons from here. Moving along & onto Stanton Moor, firstly you see "The Corkstone" one of the natural weathered sandstone outcrops, shaped like a mushroom, on past the "trig point" on the right towards the tower that has the inscription "Earl Grey 1832" The Thornhill family built the tower to commenerate Earl Grey's reform bill, which led to every Englishman having the right to vote. A short stroll to the "Nine Ladies Stone Circle" & "King Stone" pagen worshipers around the time of Solstices appear on the moor (they helped fight against quarrying on the moor - which was upheld, as they wanted to move some of the Bronze Age monuments (Legend has it that nine ladies danced on the sabbath & were turned into stone as punishment along with the fiddler that stands nearby)down into the attractive village of stanton in the Peak, which is made of gritstone (most of which 12
Derbyshire 135th Derby (Broadway Baptist) Scout Group are taking part in From Idridgehay to Derby:- An afternoon hike on local paths, surveying for obstructions and working towards the Navigator activity badge. 12

Devon 5th North Devon (Bishops Tawton) Scout Group are taking part in Swimbridge and Bishops Tawton (North Devon):- The scouts will be hiking from Swimbridge church back to the Bishops Tawton Scout Hut 28
Devon 5th North Devon (Bishops Tawton) Scout Group are taking part in Landkey and Bishops Tawton (North Devon). The Beavers will be hiking from the Ring o' Bells in Landkey back to the Bishops Tawton Scout Hut. 28
Devon 5th North Devon (Bishops Tawton) Scout Group are taking part in Codden Hill in Bishops Tawton:- The Cubs will be taking part in an activity run by the sections Young Leaders called CSI,"Cub Scouts Investigate". Where they will be tracking and code breaking on Codden Hill 35
Dorset 37th Bournemouth Scout Group Scout Group are taking part it will be another group wide event where we bring together all sections and parents and siblings ( and dogs!!). 100
Dorset Canford heath scout troop Scout Group are taking part from Poole to New Forset Hampshire and back:- Scouts camp overnight in scout hall, use public transport to forest and hike to camp site-ferny crofts and return the same way the following day. Completed as expedition challenge. 20

Dorset Poole north Scout Group are taking part in Starting @ 09:30 going from the square and compass, a beautifull walk with the chance to see dolphins and puffins aproxmatly 7 miles. 60
Durham 7th Darlington Sea Scouts Scout Group are taking part in Whorlton to Raby Castle:- The Scouts / Explorers will walk from Whorlton and meet up with the Cubs at Cleasby. Together they will walk on to Staindrop and meet up with a Beaver section. We will then finish by walking to our camp site at Raby Castle where we'll have hot dogs and cups of tea! Total Event time approx 6 hours! 70
Durham Teesdale are taking part but have not decided on an actual location yet maybe Hamsterely Forest. To include all sections a trek that will last 24 hours for the Explorers/Scouts who will do a midnight hike and then camp, Cubs to join them after breakfast to continue then Beavers join for lunch and to complete the day with a BBQ for everyone at the end. 40

Essex Legend Explorer Scouts Scout Group are taking part in Coggeshall to Marks Hall:- We will be following the Parish Council footpaths and ensuring all the signs are in place. 15
Essex Colchester Estuary District are taking part in FRIDAYWOODS:- Mixed all section members / leaders / parents / dogs / pushchairs etc ramble around and through Fridaywoods and adjacent fields, taking in a picnic stop and usually a paddle, or more, in the small river running through the area. A collection is made each year for a children’s charity. 100
Fermanagh DESC and 1st Lisnaskea Scout Group are taking part in Cuilcagh Geopark:- trying to get as many from 1st Lisnaskea as well as Black Wolves ESU on the mountain at once as possible on the Saturday. 45

Gloucestershire 1st Hatherley Beaver Scouts Scout Group are taking part in. 20
Gloucestershire Chipping Campden Scout Group. Cubs and Beavers are going on a "Tree-mendous" walk around Batsford Arboretum. The Scouts are at camp that weekend and will be taking part in an incident hike. 35
Greater Manchester North 12th Bolton (Rosehill) Scout Group are taking part in Bibbys Farm Scout Camp Site and Activity Centre, Chorley, Lancashire:- Scout team of 4 will take part in the 10th anniversary Pike View Hike. An incident hike which takes place over the West Pennine Moors. A major event it attracts up to 80 Cub, Scout or Explorer Scout teams with each section having their own hike. See www.pikeviewhike.co.uk for more info. Some of the Groups adult members will be camping with the Scouts and probably manning checkpoints/incident bases during the hikes. 7
Greater Manchester North Bolton South District are taking part in West Pennine Moors, from Bibbys Farm Scout Camp and Activity Centre:- 10th anniversary Pike View Hike. A challenge hike  taking place in the West Pennine Moors. Total of 80 Cub, Scout or Explorer Scout teams, each section completing their own hike. 320
Greater Manchester North 11th Shaw Scout Group are taking part in Greater Manchester North:- 11th Shaw Scout Group are also taking part in the 10th anniversary Pike View weekend. 2 teams of Cubs taking part in the Pip Hartley Memorial hike. 10
Greater London South West 5th Morden (St John Fisher) Scouts Scout Group are taking part along the Grand Union Canal, north London:- Canal boating along the canal. 9
Gwent District Scout Active Support and Scout Group are taking part in Newport Wetlands (an RSPB managed site):-A walk for all District Beaver/Cub/Scout/Leaders around the footpaths within the reserve, with regular 'bases' and questionnaires on route. 150
Hampshire Winchester District are taking part within the area of Winchester town ending at our district campsite on the Clarendon Way. We make our walk staged so that the youngest sections walk the least distance.  We have several starting points but everyone ends up at the same finish, which is our campsite.  We start in the morning and arrive on site in time for a picnic lunch.  After lunch we have on site fun activities for everyone to join in with and we also hold our annual district AGM. We invite the whole district and parents to attend and are supported by our leaders and Scout Activity Team and Active Support Team. We always have an excellent turn out and our Explorer Scouts set the course for us each year.  Full participation from all sections. 100
Hampshire Denmead 1st Scout Group are taking part in Wayfaiers way, including litter picking.:- To enjoy a hike and help keep the country side clean at the same time as part of the environment challenge. 30

Hereford and Worcester Clifton Upon Teme Scout Group are taking part in Clifton Upon Teme , Worcestershire:- A Circular route of about 2 hours from our scout hut along old green tracks to a local farm where we will picnic before heading back 40
Hereford and Worcester Severn And Teme District are taking part in Out from Tenbury Wells a circular walk in the surrounding country :):- Out from Tenbury Scout Hut a circular route, different from last year, 20
Hertfordshire Chells Scout Group are taking part in Datchworth:- Scouts set off a little early, Beavers & Cubs set off a little later, and all meet up on a village green.  Walk a couple of miles together.  Picnic at the finish, with opportunity for archery.  Or just come for the picnic and archery. 50
Hertfordshire Poplar Scout Group are taking part in Hertfordshire:- A circular walk around Stevenage, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and their family members. 70
Hertfordshire 1st St Micheal's Mead Scout Group are taking part between Braintree and Standon, mainly on the Flitch Way:- Sponsored walk in aid of LAMB hospital and our scout groups. Three troops are taking part. 9 walkers are aiming for 40 miles, 26 for 40 km. 35
Humberside West Hull District are taking part in Hull & East Yorkshie:- Around the Hull area, Beavers hope to do a Dockland walk. 70
Humberside 4th Driffield (Nafferton) Scout Group are taking part in Local campsite:- We will be hiking on the Saturday then camping overnight and continue hiking the following day.  We will be cooking our own meals too! 16

Kent The Kings Hill group will have different levels of walking for the different sections, hopefully meeting up for a picnic lunch together in the middle.  25
Kent 1st Cheriton Scout Group are taking part in Victory Woods and see the trees we helped plant to commemorate Scout's centenary 25
Kent 3rd Hawkinge Scout Group are taking part in Hawkinge area, near Folkestone in Kent, UK.:- A hike with Beavers, Cubs and Scouts participating, followed by a family BBQ. 55
Kent Sittingbourne, Milton & District are walking from Canterbury to Whitstable.  Passing through Blean Woods and meeting up with the old Canterbury-Whitstable railway which we wil follow into Whitstable. 50
Kent 1st Cheriton Cub Scouts Scout Group are taking part from Hythe to Folkestone:- A gentle 4.5 mile hike along the coast finishing at the lower coastal park. 35
Kent Gravesham District Scout Group are taking part in Tonbridge - Meopham area:- 38k Overnight hike for the Gravesham scouts/Explorers. This is an annual event. 50
Kent 1st Cheriton Scouts Scout Group are taking part in :- The Scouts are doing an evening walk along the Folkestone coastline. 30
Kent Barming Scout and Guides-Panther Cub Scouts Scout Group are taking part in Trottiscliffe village and Trosley Country Park:- Taking a public bus from Barming (as many Cubs do not experience pubic transport these day) through local villages to our starting point at Trottiscliffe. Following country roads and public footpaths through Trottiscliffe and across country to Pilgrims Way and onto Coldrum Trail leading to Trosley Country Park for a picnic lunch and play in the woods and on their adventure trail before being picked up by parents. We are linking with our penpal Cub Pack in Canada who are also taking part in this event and expect to swop stories and photos with them afterwards. 9

Kent Dartford District are taking part on the Darent Valley Path between Sevenoaks & Dartford which is about 17 miles.  I'd estimate 70+ for the whole walk then lots more joining at various start points on route so that we end with around 600 at the Park by the end!  In the park we have a bar-b-q and drinks, normally with some music and lots of chat about the day.  It is always excellent to see so many Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Leaders and families all together having a great day. 600

Leicestershire Loughborough District are taking part in Mam Tor, Peak District:- Loughborough District Cubs will undertake a fun day of activities including a tour of Speedwell Caverns by boat and a walk up Mam Tor and back down again! 47

Lincolnshire Boston District Scout Group are taking part in Witham Way Country Park  to the Ferryboat Inn, at Langrick Bridge.:- A distance of around 4 miles which will be completed with a family picnic in the pub garden and use of the play area. 70
Lincolnshire Waddington Scout Group are taking part Along the Lincoln Edge and the River Witham valley to the south of Lincoln and in the City:- A Journey Out Through Time. 80

Moray Moray District Scout Group are taking part in Dava Way:- The Dava way is 23 miles long and follows the old Highland Railway, through a mixture of farm and moor land from Granton on Spey to Forres on the Moray Firth coast. It is expected the scouts will walk 12 miles, Cubs 8 miles and Beavers 4 miles Approx. 250

Norfolk All Groups in the District Scout Group are taking part in all day event starting from Swanton Morley Village Hall:- Dragon themed team(x4 in each)point to point navigation competition with a time limit to  complete each leg between up to 8 bases. At each,Scouts/Explorer Scout teams have to undertake a challenge to earn more points. Challenges include: pioneering, first aid, leadership exercise, shooting, archery, canoeing etc... Trophy awarded at end for team with most points. 100

Northumberland Great North District are taking part in Tanfield County Durham:- We're combining a trip on a historic steam railway, originally a wooden waggonway and thought to be one of the oldest railway line sin the world with a 5 mile hike. 25

Northumberland Whitley Bay District are taking part in North Tyneside, walking along old waggonways:- The 20th Whitley Bay Cub pack are doing an overnight hike on 13th/14th May. We hope to be the first group finished in the UK, walking as the clock strikes midnight. 15
Northumberland Fenham Explorers Scout Group will be walking to the Cairn at Humshaugh, Northumberland, close to Hadrian's Wall.:- The Cairn at Humshaugh is the location of the first ever Scout Camp [not Brownsea Island as everyone thinks], the first camp was advertised in Scouting for Boys magazine and boys were chosen by raffle. Baden-Powell led the event and a cairn has been placed at the site for those who wish to do a pilgrimage to the area. This is both a historic and adventurous hike which will involve the Explorers doing their own map reading and compass work. 10

Somerset 2nd Clevedon Scout Group are taking part in Mendip Hill, Somerset:- A night hike across the Mendip Hills, with problem solving incidents along the way.  There will be two teams of Scouts, with back-up from YLs and adult leaders. 15
Solihull 2nd Shirley Scout Group are taking part in Walking the Monarch's way between Lydiate Ash & Dudley Port:- The Scouts are going to walk the Monarch's way from Lydiate (J3 M5), over the Lickey hills, down to the canal and upto the Netehrton Canal. We will then walk through the tunnel, 2.5 miles long. The whole walk will be about 9-10 miles. 20
Surrey 1st Englefield Green Scout Group are taking part in Wick Woods, Windsor Great Park, Englefield Green, Surrey:- Joint Camp with Cubs and Scouts, encompassing a day Hike through the lesser known parts of the Great Park; Beaver Scouts may join us for part of the hike. 50

Wiltshire 1st Wroughton Cub Pack are taking part in Wiltshire, taking in Savernake Forest and the Kennet & Avon Canal:- 14 Scouts from 1st Wroughton and 7 Guides from 1st Wootton Bassett, together with their Leaders, are embarking on a 2-day hike for JOTT 2011. Starting at Ogourne St George, the first day will cover 11 miles, traversing all of the ancient Savernake Forest. Following an overnight stop at Burbage, walkers will head NE, past Wilton Windmill, and head 10 miles along the Kennet and Avon Canal to the finish at Hungerford. 30

Yorkshire West Heavy Woollen District are taking part in Oakwell Hall Country Park to Fanwood Scout Activity Centre and back:- The Heavy Woollen District beavers will hike around Oakwell Hall Country Park and then to Fanwood Scout Activity Centre. After a picnic lunch the beavers will be able to participate in grass sledging, bouldering box, nightline, low ropes, crate stacking and archery. 100

Yorkshire West 24th St Pauls, Sowerby Bridge Scout Group are taking part in Calderdale:- The Cubs will be taking part in a 2-day expedition: catching the train to Mytholmroyd and then walking up Stoodley Pike. From there we will walk to Sowerby and spend the night there in a church hall with a BBQ, games and a movie. The following day we will walk back to Sowerby Bridge. Total distance 12 miles over 2 days. Hopefully we will have some Scouts along for the Saturday hike as well. 35
