Sunday morning will be spent helping to clean up the campsite of branches and trees that have fallen over during the winter. Next day Scouts walk a further 3 miles to Aldbourne O/S Landranger 174 GR265755 :- The Group will meet for a picnic at 12:00 (following participation in the local Scout Air Rifle shooting competition). The Beavers (6-8) see the older Scouts off and then walk around the site of the old Roman Castle at Barbury, carrying out a nature study. The Cubs (8-10.5) will set off as a group walk to Ramsbury, with the sixers staying overnight at the Ramsbury Scout Hall. The Scouts will walk to Ramsbury in Patrols, navigating their way and camp overnight in Ramsbury then walk onto Aldbourne and finish. As well as ensuring the route is clear and safe, the walk will contribute to various awards and challenges for all members. | 50 |
